British betting giant teams up with Zút agency to create new seasonal campaign that aims to spread the holiday spirit by making five customers millionaires if it snows in London this Christmas
For the first time in the business’s 56-year history, UK-based betting company Betfred has launched a festive ad promoting a new giveaway that will make five customers millionaires if it snows in London this Christmas.
Created with the help of the Zút agency, the ad will officially debut today and feature a series of seasonal sporting scenes set to an upbeat sing-along soundtrack. In it, viewers will find details of how they can stake their claim to winning a share of Betfred’s £5 million draw by betting through the site over Christmas.
Speaking of the new creative campaign, Betfred CEO Joanne Whittaker, explained: “With all the brilliant sport at Christmas, we wanted to add some extra excitement for our customers. Our team came up with the idea of our biggest-ever giveaway, which then prompted our first-ever Christmas advert.”
Customers will be able to opt in for the promotion at Betfred.com to receive a free prize draw entry, with one additional entry awarded for subsequent bets of £1 or more on sportsbook, lotto draws or virtual sports, up to a maximum of 100. A prize draw will then take place if snow is lying at London Heathrow Airport Weather Station at 9am on Christmas morning, as verified by independent UK weather forecaster WeatherNet.
Explaining the concept behind the campaign, Zút creative director, Matt Thompson, added: “We wanted this to be a campaign that makes people smile, then prompts them to enter this amazing giveaway – tapping into the joy we feel at Christmas, with an eye on some of the amazing sport that takes place over the festive season.
“This was a collective effort. We worked closely with Betfred at all stages of planning and production and having their expertise was vital. We’re really proud of the campaign – now all we need is snow!”
