Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) Director Paulo Martins Chan cancelled his participation at the G2E Asia allegedly because of reports that state promotions of illegal gambling in the show. Chan has been a regular keynote speaker at the conference and was scheduled to deliver his speech Wednesday afternoon.
Despite this incident, thousands of visitors continued to flock the doors of the event. This year’s another unparalleled show has brought nearly 200 exhibitors stretching across 34,000 square meters of a bi-level expo hall. With its most diverse edition to date, G2E Asia 2019 has reached the corners of industry’s gaming and non-gaming sectors.
The show gets more vibrant this year with a wide range of gaming technologies, products and solutions. The expo’s lower level hosts Slots & Electronic Gaming Machines, Table Games, Parts & Components, IR Tech & Business Solutions and Security Surveillance, whereas the upper level houses Game Development, Gaming Platform Development, Sports Betting, Lottery, eSports, and all things Financial Technology.
Day 2 also launched innovative forums that seek the ultimate experience beyond casino floors—Esports Connect, Game Development and Financial Technology.
At the Blockchain and Gaming segment of the Financial Technology forum, panelists have discussed what innovations the technology can bring into gaming.
Technology Law firm Segev LLP, which specializes in betting and gaming, was represented by its founder and partner Ron Segev at the panel. Speaking with CalvinAyre.com, Segev explained that the application of blockchain in the casino space is a no-brainer with the notion of digital assets being immutable, verifiable and secured.
Back to the show’s main conference, Intelligencia’s Andrew Pearson broke down the types of analytics and how it benefits the industry. He imparted how these tools and technologies can help operators understand customers better. “You want to get to the point where you look at the person’s behavior holistically so that you understand their website behavior, their emailing behavior,” Pearson explained. He added, “We talk a lot about content, context and we’re getting into emotions at this point as well so you want to understand people’s emotions when they’re buying.”
