Apple debuts live scores app with betting odds from DraftKings
Tech giant’s new Apple Scores product allows iOS device users to view betting markets alongside scores and team stats

Apple has rolled out Apple Sports, a free scores app that also includes betting odds for multiple sports leagues across the world.
Markets available via the iOS app include team odds, spreads, and over/under points. DraftKings confirmed to EGR that the operator’s “real-time betting odds” are displayed in the app, although the company’s involvement is only found buried in the settings.
Users are unable to place bets via the app, nor are they able to be redirected to DraftKings to place bets. Users can turn off live betting odds at any time, Apple and DraftKings said.
Alongside odds, the app will display scores and team stats in the guise of traditional scores apps.
The product will also link Apple’s wider ecosystem to the app, with users able to tap to watch live games via Apple TV.
Apple currently has the broadcast rights for MLS, as well as Friday Night Baseball games in the US.
Leagues featured on the app include the NBA, MLS, NHL and top football leagues in England, Italy, Spain, France, Germany and Mexico.
Apple confirmed that more competitions and teams would be added to the app over time, including NFL, MLB, NWSL and WNBA.
Apple stressed its new scores app, which features an “easy-to-use interface”, will be fully customisable for users to place their preferred teams and leagues at the forefront of the product.
The app is available for download in the US, UK and Canada. The Cupertino, California-based tech titan confirmed there was also French and Spanish language support available for users.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice-president of services, said: “We created Apple Sports to give sports fans what they want – an app that delivers incredibly fast access to scores and stats.”
Apple Sports will be going up against theScore in North America, the region’s leading lives scores app that since 2021 has been owned by Penn Entertainment following a $2bn acquisition.
Last week, DraftKings confirmed a $750m deal had been agreed to acquire US lottery courier app Jackpocket in a move that will see the Boston-based firm expand into the burgeoning US lottery sector.
