London-listed operator continues to revamp senior leadership team with hires of Mark Kemp and Stephen Sheridan following January additions of igaming talent

888 has added DAZN BET CEO Mark Kemp and former Standard Chartered exec Stephen Sheridan to the group’s C-suite, EGR can exclusively reveal.
Kemp joins the London-listed operator as chief commercial officer (CCO) and will officially start working with the business tomorrow, 5 March, based out of Gibraltar.
Kemp moves to 888 after serving as DAZN BET CEO since August 2022, having joined the challenger brand from BoyleSports where he also served as CEO.
The industry exec boasts an extensive industry CV, having served as MD for both The UK Tote Group and Ladbrokes Coral in the past.
Sheridan, who will join 888 on 18 March and be based in the UK, has been drafted in as chief customer and operating officer (CCOO).
This will be the banking exec’s first step into the igaming industry, with 888 bringing him into the fold with the new CCOO position.
Sheridan will move to the firm from OakNorth Bank where has spent the past two years as chief operating officer.
He previously spent more than 16 years with Standard Chartered, culminating in his position as regional COO for Europe and the Americas.
The operator said the pair were “leaders in their fields” and “extremely strong hires” for the business.
The dual hire represents a continuation of new CEO Per Widerström’s senior reshuffle since he joined the company in October.
Kemp and Sheridan will join the likes of former Superbet exec Sean Wilkins (CFO), ex-Flutter head Rik Barker (chief information technology officer) and former DraftKings chief international officer Jeffrey Haas (chief growth officer) in the new-look 888 senior team.
The FTSE firm also added former Flutter head Ian Gallagher as chief product officer in December 2023 as well as Fredrik Ekdahl as group legal counsel in October 2023.
888 is set to announce its full-year 2023 results on 26 March following a trading update in January, during which the group will lay out its future plans for growth.
