Robbie Savage and Emma Jones to host new Planet Sport Bet podcast show which will feature guest stars and air weekly

Sporting news content site Planet Sport has launched its own podcast titled On Another Planet in order to promote the group’s sportsbook, Planet Sport Bet.
Part of the Sports Social Podcast Network, the show will be produced in conjunction with Voiceworks Sport and hosted by Planet Sport’s regular contributors, ex-pro footballer Robbie Savage and BBC Sport presenter Emma Jones.
New episodes of On Another Planet will be released weekly, aiming to share exclusive content by using former Wales international Savage’s years of professional football experience.
Every week, On Another Planet will feature famous sporting guests, with the first episode seeing Savage and Jones joined by football journalist James Marshment, current editor of the English Premier League transfer site TEAMtalk.
Episode one also saw Savage explain his journey to become Macclesfield’s director of football, while Marshment reviewed the big stories from the latest round of Premier League fixtures.
Speaking about the release of the podcast, Jones said: “I’m so excited to launch On Another Planet with Robbie. It’ll give us both the opportunity to discuss the big talking points from the weekend’s football.
“This is going to be a raw, honest and open chat between two pals, plus a rotating panel of football experts from the Planet Sport network, so at least one of us will be talking sense.”
Mike Grenham, Planet Sports Bet MD of betting and gaming, added: “The world of podcasting has exploded in recent years, and we see a huge opportunity to get in on the action by launching our own branded show with Robbie and Emma.
“As a new sportsbook and casino, we must be smart in how we market to players and drive awareness of our brand. The On Another Planet podcast does this in a way that is authentic and really promotes our USPs, tone and values to a wide audience of sports fans and bettors,” he added.
The launch of On Another Planet follows a the trend of operators delving into the podcasting world, with William Hill having previously partnered with Checkd Media to launch a Sam Allardyce-fronted show.
