Tipico will be opening a new technology hub in Poland which will house up to 50 employees, with workers arriving from 6 May.

The new hub will be based in Kraków and will be the home of the firm’s platform engineering and data teams. It will also be used for marketing technology and site reliability engineering (SRE).

The German sports betting and casino operator will be based on one floor, with several other companies using the eight-floor building.

Tipico has already began hiring employees with more to arrive throughout the next few months, though a number of engineers will be in place from next week.

The Tipico website currently has a further nine job openings for its Polish hub, with roles across IT, cloud tech and software all open.

Speaking to EGR, a Tipico spokesperson said: “We can confirm that we will open an office in Kraków, Poland. It will be a tech-driven location for marketing technology, data, platform engineering and SRE teams.

“Up to 50 employees will join us in the coming two years and the first hirings have started already. We will have a soft opening of the new location, meaning that from 6 May onwards our first employees will start being in the office in Kraków.

“We have new engineers starting in May, June and July and hiring is ongoing heavily,” the spokesperson concluded.

Tipico already boasts offices in its native Germany, neighbouring Austria, Croatia, Malta, Gibraltar, Colombia and the US.

The group is headquartered in St. Julian’s, Malta with around 1,800 staff based out of the main office.

Krakow boasts a large tech hub dedicated to the gambling industry in the shape of William Hill’s Grand Parade business. LeoVegas Group also has a permanent home in Poland’s capital, Warsaw.

Operators have been opening tech hubs throughout some of the biggest cities in Europe, with EGR recently exploring the process in a two-part series.

Elsewhere, Tipico’s owners CVC Capital Partners debuted on Amsterdam’s Euronext last week with a $2bn IPO.
