Betsson Group adds Francesco Totti as brand ambassador for Italian news brand

AS Roma legend to be the face of Swedish operator’s Betsson.sport platform as infortainment product goes live following debut of flagship brand Betsson

Betsson Group has announced the launch of its new Italy-facing sports infotainment platform Betsson.sport, which will be fronted by former football star Francesco Totti.

The new sports platform will aim to offer exclusive content, interviews, news and highlights across numerous sporting disciplines.

In addition, Betsson.sport will also introduce the Betsson Sport Club initiative, inviting clubs to join, from both prominent and lesser-known leagues, to help gain support and visibility opportunities via the platform.

The firm has chosen former AS Roma forward Totti as the brand ambassador for Betsson.sport

The Italian legend played 786 games for the club and scored 307 goals during his 28 years with the club.  

The partnership with Totti comes after the operator’s StarCasinò Sport news platform expanded its partner with AS Roma in September for the 2023-24 Serie A season.

On his new role, Totti said: “I am thrilled to be part of this project, which aligns perfectly with my daily commitment to sharing my passion for sports.

“Betsson.sport presents a wonderful opportunity to unite various sports clubs and helping them to realise their full potential.”

Ronni Hartvig, Betsson Group chief commercial officer, added: “Italy holds significant importance for Betsson, and we are delighted to partner with Francesco Totti, a figure synonymous with excellence in Italian football.

“We think his story and experiences will help us make the Betsson Sports Club even better, promoting our values of fair play, inclusion and passion.”

The launch of Betsson.sport comes after the Stockholm-listed operator’s flagship brand, Betsson, officially went live in Italy earlier this month having enjoyed recent success launching in other jurisdictions.

For the past decade, Betsson’s sole presence in Italy had been StarCasinò,
