Catena Media has continued the refresh of its C-suite with the promotion of Edward Midolo to become the affiliate’s new chief technology officer (CTO).

Midolo will step up to the leadership team after more than five years with the Malta-based firm.

He originally joined Catena Media from payments firm CCBill in October 2018 as head of technical operations.

In February 2022, Midolo was promoted to become group head of central technology before being named VP of systems technology in September of the same year.

Midolo will continue to be based in Malta after being promoted to the senior leadership team.

The former Gamesys head will join a new look C-suite at the affiliate after two months of accelerated change at the business.

At the start of March, Kindred Group US chief Manuel Stan was confirmed as Catena Media’s new CEO, effective from 1 July, after Michael Daly resigned.

The business is being led by interim CEO Pierre Cadena for the next three months. Last week, the affiliate promoted Mike Gerrow to become permanent CFO.

Gerrow will replace interim CFO Erik Edeen on 15 April after four years of service, having most recently served as VP of finance at the affiliate.

A Catena Media spokesperson said: “We are excited to announce the promotion of Edward Midolo to chief technology officer.

“For the last six years, Edward has driven tech innovation within the company and industry and provided stellar leadership.

“We are so excited for this next chapter of his Catena journey,” the spokesperson added.

In February, Catena Media claimed investment in technology means it is ahead of the competition regarding AI despite EBITDA plunging 88% in the final three months of 2023.
