Checkd Media and bet365 launch new run of the ‘I Had Trials Once’ podcast

This latest run will last for three months, with the operator promoting its F2P game as part of the partnership

Checkd Media and bet365 are relaunching the I Had Trials Once podcast for a three-month period to help the operator promote its free-to-play (F2P) 6 Scores Challenge game.

The podcast was launched in April 2019 and features regular presenters, non-league Radcliffe striker Jordan Hulme and ex-Salford City player and now football agent Gareth Seddon.

The new series will be produced by Checkd Media, in conjunction with promoting bet365’s 6 Scores Challenge F2P game, which allows players to win a share of a £1m prize should they correctly guess the exact score in six selected football matches.

Each week, the two hosts will produce a video clip to promote the challenge, which will be posted on the I Had Trials Once social media accounts.

In the podcast’s first episode, the presenters will welcome former Charlton Athletic and Bristol City manager Dean Holden.

Will Tyrrell, UK media director at Checkd Media, said: “I Had Trials Once has been a great success ever since it attracted a large, enthusiastic audience the first time around, and it’s fantastic to bring it back again in conjunction with such a big operator brand.

“Dean Holden was a great guest with an interesting story to tell, kicking off a new series that is sure to be very entertaining while also serving as a valuable promotional tool for bet365’s 6 Scores Challenge.”

Checked Media also works in partnership with William Hill to produce its No Tippy Tappy Football with Sam Allardyce podcast series, which started just before last year’s FIFA World Cup. The show was renewed in March 2023, after it recorded an audience of 17.8 million.
