Flutter Entertainment has confirmed David Lazzarato will not seek re-election to the company’s board of directors at May’s annual general meeting (AGM), which has given way to a host of internal changes at the operator.

Lazzarato will step down from the board following the conclusion of the AGM on 1 May, with the Canadian having originally joined The Stars Group board in 2016, four years before Flutter’s acquisition of the group.

Speaking on Lazzarato’s decision not to seek re-election, Flutter chair John Bryant said: “I wish to take this opportunity to thank David for his exceptional contribution to the board over the past eight years.  We wish David well for the future.”

As a result of Lazzarato’s decision, the operator confirmed a number of changes to various committees within the business.

Nancy Cruickshank, who joined Flutter as a non-executive director in May 2019, will replace Lazzarato as chair of the risk and sustainability committee as well as a member of the audit committee.

As a result of her taking up these new positions, Cruickshank will be stepping down from her role as a member of the compensation and human resources committee and will be replaced by Nancy Dubuc.

Dubuc, who is also CEO of VICE Media Group and a board member at Warner Music Group, will step down from the nominating and corporate governance committee, while she has also been added to the risk and sustainability committee.

Elsewhere, Flutter’s UK and Ireland division has donated £400,000 to grassroots sports clubs as part of its Cash4Clubs programme.

The operator awarded charitable donations of £2,000 each to 200 sporting clubs across the country that participate in typically underfunded sports.
